Friends for Life Marriage Mentoring Program In every church family and community, there are a number of couples that are experiencing struggles and instability in their marriage and family relationships. This leads to the need for a support system for couples needing a caring and supportive environment for growth and encouragement. There is also an increase in the number of young couples who are choosing marriage amidst adverse conditions, particularly unexpected pregnancy as a result of being sexually active prior to marriage. Discipleship is the core of any program to marriages that may be offered by your organization. Therefore, we have put marriage mentoring at the center of our Friends for Life Marriage Mentoring Program. Couples that have built a strong marriage have a great opportunity to pass on to other couples what God has given them by becoming Marriage Mentor Coaches. These couples may be refreshed by being in a mentoring relationship with another couple. And, mentoring can rejuvenate a marriage with the energy of youth. Couples of all stages and ages are needed to join this team. We have developed effective, yet relatively simple, tools for identifying, equipping, and developing couples into wonderful mentors to couples that need, at the very least, that extra umph in their lives that will get them to where God desires their relationship to be. Mentor Couple TrainingWe provide you with the tools required for your team to identify, equip, and develop the right couples for this important part of your ministry to marriages. Couples you select for the Mentor Program will participate in a marriage enrichment retreat that introduces and emphasizes many of the principles contributing to effective mentoring.
