Our Team

Our team is small on purpose. By design, we maintain a centralized hub from which a number of different ministries are provided for churches and other ministries. As necessary, we rely on the expertise of professionals that can provide the services your team needs. At the same time, though, we also stay small in number to help keep our overhead costs minimal. We feel this is proper handling of the resources with which God has entrusted us.

Gary H Woolverton

Gary is the principal consultant and founder of Hartwood Ministries. In the midst of a successful and rewarding career in various facets of the natural gas and heavy construction industries, Gary founded Hartwood Associates to provide human resources consulting services to small and medium-sized organizations throughout the United States. This organization evolved over time into Hartwood Ministries, which provides a number of services to churches and ministries around the world. Gary's career included experience in pipelining, welding, material handling, payroll processing and taxes, telecommunications, and human resources organization and development. After almost 17 years in those industries, Gary followed a calling into the field of ministry which would change his life forever.

Gary spent the next several years in increasingly responsible positions at three churches in Texas. These responsibilities initially included volunteer recruitment, development, and assignment; support group ministry hosting and oversight; and single adult ministry leadership. Subsequent pastoral portfolio assignments included support groups, missions/outreach, assimilation, men, women, couples/marriages, single adults, and stewardship. During time at one of the church assignments, Gary created Hartwood Ministries as an outgrowth of the Hartwood Associates organization. His passions include the promotion of strong marriages and strong churches throughout the world. Gary believes that the family must be structured and led based on the foundation of a strong marriage between a man and a woman. He also believes the church should be structured on the foundation of healthy and strong marriages and families.

Gary lives in north Texas with his smart, witty, and beautiful wife, Aimee, and their two handsome and wonderful sons. They also have a Sheltie named Tori; two cats, Ricky and Lucy; and multitudes of fish.
