We're not a new ministry, but we're relaunching this site with new and improved opportunities for you to find the information and services you need. We want to hear from you on your thoughts about the various categories listed here. Hartwood Ministries is in the process of having its first book published, which will be on the subject of Church Ministry By Design, and is a part of a comprehensive work titled Ministry By Design: The Series. The series is comprised of at least eight other volumes on different ministry subjects, such as church growth, mentoring, position descriptions, purposes of the church, spiritual authority, spiritual disciplines, and spiritual gifts. The second volume in the series to be published should be Position Descriptions By Design. We're not sure the format for that book, although it has been completed. It contains more than 750 job descriptions, making the volume too voluminous for one book (catchy humor there?!). The third volume will follow the second one fairly quickly. One of the neat things about this series is that we plan on offering portions and sections of it as standalone downloadables that may be purchased from our web site. This means, for instance, if you need an idea for a position description for a new position at your church, you may search our downloadables for a description that matches your need. Then you will have an option to download it as a PDF or in some other format (haven't determined that, yet). You will have to pay for the download, of course, but it will not break your budget with its cost. Much work went into developing the descriptions, so we can't justify just giving them away. However, your budget may allow the download of several descriptions, depending upon your needs. That may make the downloading more economical. The same will be true for the dozens of ministries included in the Church Ministry By Design volume. Due to space constraints by the publisher, we were not able to include about a dozen of the ministries we had originally planned for the book. However, they will be available in expanded form, along with expanded forms of all the other ministries in the book, for download through our web site. They will also be available in groups at discounted prices. More about that coming soon.
Peruse the different categories available and let's begin a dialogue about ministry in the US and abroad. There will be times when a teaching or discussion may arise in one of the categories. When it does, let's be open-minded and polite when we respond. Any posts or resulting threads will be quickly deleted if they are inappropriate for our audience (my young boys will be reading the posts). Let's keep the discussion on the up-and-up, and respect everyone's opinions. We don't have to agree with everyone, but we must respect their right to be wrong (another stab at humor, OK?!).
